They Also Served: Uncovering the Experiences of African and Caribbean Servicemen during the Great War.

14th July 2016, Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square B1 2ND

As we commemorate the centenary of World War One, ‘They Also Served’ is a Heritage Lottery funded project that explores the often overlooked contributions of the African and Caribbean servicemen who served in all the theatres of that war. Churches Together in England, the project leader is working to engage with the African and Caribbean communities in the West Midlands on this history, with a focus on working with the churches and their membership in the region.

The project launch will take place at the Library of Birmingham on 14th July at 2-4.30pm. Please join us for some light refreshments and an opportunity to view some of the research undertaken for this exciting project.
